Rhinoplasty for Men in Draper, UT
If you find yourself unsatisfied with the shape and size of your nose, then you’re already aware of feeling insecure about it. Grooming can only do so much, but NuVista Plastic Surgery is here to help. Rhinoplasty, or more commonly known as a nose job, is a cosmetic procedure that our team has years of experience performing. This type of plastic surgery for men will fix any deformities, as well as removing bumps and adjusting the angle of your nose. Additionally, for men who have issues with their breathing or have experienced any trauma to the face undergoing a rhinoplasty procedure is common practice. Dr. J Dayne Petersen, our resident expert, is dedicated to all his male patients in Draper, UT.
What to Expect
As a male facial surgery expert, Dr. Petersen takes the time to sit down with you to discuss how your nose will look in relation to the rest of your facial features. You can expect to have a thorough meeting with him where he’ll want to talk about your goals for your nose. Digital photographs and computer imaging will then be provided to determine what option is best for you.
For the surgery, you’ll be given general anesthesia. The surgical procedure involves separating the skin from the underlying bone and cartilage. Your nose will be reshaped according to the consultation you had with Dr. Petersen, and then the skin is re-draped over the surface. Incisions may be created inside the nose unless there’s a decision to use an open approach. If an open approach is used, then incisions are made across the tissue between both nostrils.
After the surgery, you can expect your recovery to take one to two weeks. It’s normal to experience swelling and/or bruising after the operation. You’ll get a lightweight splint applied to your nose to protect the new shape. The splint is typically removed after a week. Additionally, you might have nasal splints to protect your septum.
