Your First Visit
Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation where you will meet with Dr. Petersen to discuss your goals and available treatment options. Generally surgical procedures require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- A list of medications you are presently taking, including vitamins and supplements.
- Your full medical history. Previous surgeries or certain medical conditions can change your treatment options and impact safe medical decision making.
- Necessary completed forms and cards if you have medical insurance. This will save time and allow us to help you process any applicable claims.
IMPORTANT: All patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
A pre-operative consultation is mandatory for patients undergoing IV anesthesia for surgery. Please have nothing to eat or drink 8 hours prior to your surgery. You will also need an adult to drive you home.
In Case of Emergency
A vital part of our service is being available to you after surgery to take care of any medical concern you may have. If you are having problems after hours call the office 801-261-5791. The answering service will contact Dr. Petersen right away. If this is a true emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Dr. Petersen provides 24-hour emergency coverage.
