Pre-Treatment Process

We begin with an evaluation of your medical history to gain a full understanding of your overall health. After that, Dr. Petersen will examine the areas for treatment. He will review the procedure and advise about the benefits and pitfalls that accompany Botox treatments. From there he will suggest a plan to meet the treatment goals and document your appearance prior to any injections. Digital photos are taken to be evaluated periodically, marking progress. Results can take from 4 to 10 days before they are fully developed.

Treatment Process

Anesthesia is not used with Botox injections, as it is, for the most part, a painless procedure. There is a slight sting accompanying the initial neurotoxin injection. The results of Botox are not permanent, so please keep up with routine treatments to retain its effects. To maintain the look of smooth, supple skin; appointments are typically scheduled every four months. Botox treats minor expression lines, it does not repair sagging skin.

Post-Treatment

During post-treatment, some clients experience slight bruises at the injections points, these quickly fade and are no cause for concern. Your typical activities may be resumed immediately post-treatment. Minimal side-effects can include temporary muscle weakness, and, in some cases, your eyelids may droop. Some patients may experience headaches on the day of treatment. Because Botox is temporary, all side effects are temporary as well.
